Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry service under Mahibere Kidusan USA Coordinating Center is a spiritual community dedicated to nurturing the faith, knowledge, and spiritual growth of students within the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. Rooted in the timeless traditions and teachings of the Church, the Campus Ministry service strives to guide young believers in living a Christ-centered life during their academic journey. Through fellowship, learning the church’s teachings, and service, it provides a strong foundation for students seeking to grow closer to God while navigating the demands of campus life.

Our Purpose

The Campus Ministry exists to inspire students to develop a deep understanding of Orthodox theology, uphold the traditions of the Church, and strengthen their personal spiritual discipline. By creating an environment where Orthodox Christian values are practiced and shared, the Campus Ministry service aims to form responsible, faithful, and compassionate individuals who can serve both the Church and society with integrity.

Current Campus Ministries in the United States

Mahibere Kidusan Campus Ministry is running with a strong and expanding presence across the United States. Today, more than 25 active campus ministries are serving Ethiopian Orthodox college students in numerous states, including New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia, Massachusetts, Georgia, Connecticut, Minnesota, Indiana, Ohio, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Kansas, Oregon, Washington, California, and Tennessee. These Campus Ministries provide spiritually grounding communities for students living far from home, offering consistent fellowship, liturgical participation, cultural connection, and Orthodox Christian mentorship. As more ministries continue to emerge, the presence of Mahibere Kidusan in the U.S. is helping to ensure that young believers remain rooted in their faith and tradition throughout their academic journeys.

Activities and Programs

Campus Ministry organizes a variety of spiritually enriching activities designed to support the intellectual and spiritual growth of young Orthodox Christians. These include teachings on Scripture and Church doctrine based on a developed curriculum, weekly spiritual gatherings, hymn practice, mentorship programs, spiritual pilgrimages, charity and community outreach, and participation in Church feasts and liturgical life. Through these programs, students build lasting friendships, deepen their faith, and develop leadership skills rooted in Christian humility and service.

Our Commitment

The Campus Ministry service is committed to fostering unity, moral discipline, and spiritual resilience among students. In partnership with clergy, scholars, and dedicated volunteers, Mahibere Kidusan Campus Ministry seeks to empower young believers to become strong pillars of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. By guiding students to preserve their identity in Christ and uphold the Orthodox faith in every aspect of their lives, the Campus Ministry continues to play a vital role in shaping the next generation of faithful servants.
