Evangelism and Apostolic Services

The Main Department of Evangelism and Apostolic Ministry, following the footsteps of the Apostles and the divine directive from Acts 1:8, "...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth," makes the news of the Holy Gospel accessible to all humankind using various strategies.

It works to add non-believers to the Holy Church by teaching, convincing, and baptizing them, granting them adoption as children of the Trinity. Furthermore, it strengthens the faithful already in the church by teaching the Holy Church's doctrine through various methods, times, and places, tailored to their level, age, and gender. This includes strengthening them in their faith, teaching them to live a holy life, and protecting them from being led astray by false teachings.

Services and Programs

To achieve this mission, it implements the following main functions derived from its strategy:

  • It provides training and raises awareness for stakeholders at various levels of the church structure, including teachers, evangelists, priests, deacons, and members, motivating them for service and commissioning them.

  • It works to strengthen and restore the faithful, and to convince and baptize new believers, by establishing various assemblies for the laity, deploying teachers, conducting pastoral counseling (counsel of the fathers), and using various other methods to teach the Word of God.

  • It works to spread the good news of the Holy Gospel to the world by translating and editing the teachings of the Holy Church into various languages.

  • It teaches the doctrine of the Holy Church through distance education (e-learning) in a manner that is accessible to all.

  • It undertakes special work with the aim of fostering exemplary and upright Orthodox families.

  • It provides support for next-generation ministers to be trained at various levels and in every field, so they can be deployed and taught.

  • It works to expand the apostolic mission within the country (tasks such as producing new baptized members, reopening closed churches, and producing successor ministers—priests, deacons, and evangelist-teachers).

By performing these and other functions, and by making the good news of the Holy Gospel accessible to all people, this is a main department that strives to fulfill the apostolic mission of the Holy Church.
